Get better results faster with the latest dental technology
Advances in dental technology raise the bar in oral health care treatment. Modern Family Dentistry believes using the latest dental technology is the fastest and most cost-effective way to provide superior dental care services to our patients. It is just one part of how your dental care experience at Modern Family Dentistry is designed to keep you comfortable as you receive the absolute best in oral health care.
We use dental technology that improves all stages of dental care, beginning with a more precise examination. When problems are found earlier, they can be treated earlier, and dental health is maintained. Dental problems begin with decay and damage, and technology helps your dentist find both issues early.
CEREC technology has been around for over 35 years. MFD has been using it for over 20 years to repair and restore damaged teeth. These might include broken teeth, broken or lost crowns, inlays and onlays, and even some bridgework.
Another excellent imaging tool we use at Modern Family Dentistry is 3D cone beam x-ray imaging—a CT imaging scan that rotates around the patient’s head. A cone-shaped beam captures data and converts it to an imaging scan the dentist can use to get a complete picture of a complex problem.
Having a 3D picture can help the dentist find the most effective and efficient procedure to correct the problem, bringing the patient back to good oral health.
This versatile laser minimizes discomfort and bleeding for many soft tissue procedures. The Gemini laser can be used for bacterial reduction, particularly for patients with periodontitis or gingivitis. The laser removes harmful disease-accelerating bacteria to speed up healing and slow the gum disease process. Using a precise laser to remove hard-to-reach bacteria gives patients a head start on achieving health goals, including better breath. Another valuable use for this laser is for reshaping the gum line for cosmetic procedures. Many patients do not realize this same laser can help lessen the pain and duration of cold sores and ulcers.
Digitally-guided surgery uses the images from a patient’s cone beam CT scan to precisely plan implant treatment. The digital workflow for computer-aided implant surgery leads to the generation of a prosthetically driven, 3-D virtual plan, which is transitioned into the patient’s mouth by the surgical guide and protocol. Guided implant surgery is believed to be more accurate and reliable compared with free-handed implant surgery.
